Motivation from The Biggest Loser

I spend at least one night a week with my dad and sister, Becca, at home.  It's nice to be able to spend time with them and, the commute is all of 10 minutes so it really saves on gas!

Last week Becca and I sat down and watched the Biggest Loser together.  I've heard of the show before, I've seen parts of it and quite a few of my friends watch it, but I've never sat down and watched a full episode before.  My mind was completely blown in two ways,
  1.  The dedication each person seems to have to lose weight which is clearly visible in their workouts, emotional breakdowns and the beads of sweat you see during close-ups (gross).
  2. Some of the contestants only weigh a little more than I do (eek!), and yet from my perspective they look much larger than I do.

So, on Friday I was out with my Grandma and I saw this video that Jules (yet another sister) has been constantly recommending.  Jules swears by this video and she's in amazing shape, so I bought it, tried it on Saturday and has my @$$ handed to me on a golden platter.  I went to bed sore, exhausted and feeling FANTASTIC!

So, yesterday as I was leaving work I managed to convince myself not to go to the gym (it really didn't take much). However, I heard Jillian Michael's voice in the back of my head and so I made the turn and actually went to the gym.  Running on the treadmill, I slowly loosened up and started to feel really good.  However, at around mile 1.5 I was struggling and was seriously thinking of quitting, then this image (or something similar) popped up in my mind.

Now I'm not going to sit here and lie by telling you I sprinted or that I continued to run for another 2 miles, but I did pick up the speed a little bit (from 5 to 5.5) and finished the two miles I had told myself I would run!

So thank you, Producers, Contestants and Trainers of the Biggest Loser.  Not only for the extreme entertainment value you add to my life but for the motivation.  The motivation that has been with me since last week and I'm hoping will last for a long time, I have a Wedding Dress to find and fit into this summer!
